Josef Priller is the Professor of Neuropsychiatry at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Chair of Brain Inflammation and Repair at the University of Edinburgh. He graduated from the Technical University of Munich and obtained his M.D. at the Max-Planck-Institute of Psychiatry. He performed his residencies in neurology, psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Charité in Berlin. In 2008, he was appointed as Director of the Department of Neuropsychiatry at the Charité. He is also the Vice Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the Charité Campus Mitte. Since 2017, he is the Chair of Brain Inflammation and Repair at the University of Edinburgh/UK Dementia Research Institute.
Josef is author of more than 120 peer-reviewed publications and many book chapters. He serves on the editorial boards of Brain Pathology, Cytotherapy, Glia and PLoS One. He is Chair of the Neuropsychiatry Committee of the German Association of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics (DGPPN).
