Professor Michael O’Rourke

Professor Michael O’Rourke

Again, it is with immense sadness that the Artery Society learned of the death of Professor Michael O’Rourke on Monday 5th February, aged 86 years. A long-time supporter of the ARTERY Society and its annual scientific meetings, and a former recipient of the Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010, Michael drove the field of arterial haemodynamics and the search for new methods of measuring blood pressure. He is remembered with much fondness and his life and many professional achievements will be celebrated in the coming months. Michael left a huge legacy and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. May he rest in peace.
