Full Professor of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, and Chairman of Geriatrics and Cliniclal Gerontology, Senior Researcher at INSERM, at the University of Nancy, France.
Prof. Benetos is the President of the European Geriatric Medicine Society (EuGMS)
His research interests include the impact of telomere dynamics on arterial aging, the effects of arterial stiffness on CV complications and cognitive decline and the specificities of the management of hypertension in very old frail people.
Prof. Benetos has authored 370 papers published in peer-reviewed international scientific journals (H index 73).
In 2010 he published in French (Ed. Robert Laffont, Paris) the book “ABCDaire du futur Centenaire”. translated in 2011 in Greek (Ed. Patakis, Athens).
In 2018 he co-edited the-“Cambridge Handbook of Successful Aging”. (Publisher Cambridge University Press).
