Cardiff Airport

The closest airport is Cardiff Airport which is about a half hour taxi ride from the Museum of Wales.

Heathrow Airport

For international flights into Heathrow, there are several different ways to get to Cardiff.

  • Train: The most convenient way is to take the Elizabeth Line and change to take a train from London Paddington to Cardiff Central. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and 36 minutes.   • Bus: Alternatively, you can take a bus from Heathrow Central Bus Station to Cardiff Bus station. The bus ride takes about 2 hours and 55 minutes and costs around £15. Timetable and tickets can be found at https://www.nationalexpress.com
  • Car: If you prefer driving, you can take the M4 motorway from Heathrow to Cardiff. The distance is approximately 138 miles, and the drive usually takes around 2 hours and 18 minutes.
