About the speaker

Professor Bojan Jelaković, MD, PhD, FESH, is Full Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine and Head of the Department of Nephrology, Dialysis, Arterial Hypertension and Transplantation at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb, Croatia. He is President of the Croatian Hypertension League and the International Society for Vascular Health; and one of Europe’s leading experts in hypertension, vascular ageing, and cardiovascular prevention. His research has made major contributions to the understanding of Balkan nephropathy, and he has authored hundreds of scientific publications. A frequent invited speaker at international congresses, he was elected a Full Member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in recognition of his outstanding contributions to clinical medicine and cardio-kidney-metabolic research.
