ARTERY Executive Committee
2021 Nominations (with effect from October 2021) are closed.
At the next Artery AGM the following members of the Executive Committee will complete their terms of office.
Pierre Boutouyrie (President) – will be appointed as Advisor to the Society
Alun Hughes (Treasurer) – Eligible for 1 more term as Treasurer or another Officer role
C Rajkumar (General Secretary) Eligible for 1 more term as Secretary or another Officer role
Pedro Cunha (Ordinary Member) – Eligible for Officer Position – Secretary, Treasurer or Vice-President
Tine Hansen (Ordinary Member) – Eligible for 1 more term as Ordinary member or 2 terms in Officer roles
Rosa Maria Bruno (Ordinary Member) – Eligible for 1 more term as Ordinary member or 2 terms in Officer roles
Bart Spronck (Ordinary Member) – Eligible for 1 more term as Ordinary member or 2 terms in Officer roles
Bernard Hametner (Young Investigator Chair) – Eligible for 1 more term as Ordinary member or 2 terms in Officer roles
Thomas Weber will take on the role of President for a period of 2 years.
Nominations are invited from eligible Artery Members to be re-elected or to join the Artery Executive Committee.
Nominations are welcome for the following positions and will be for a period of 2 years with effect from 22 October 2021:

Only Full Members who have paid their current annual membership for the Society are eligible for election onto the Executive Committee.
Members of the Executive Committee may who have served two consecutive terms of Office remain eligible for election to the office of Vice-President, Secretary or Treasurer and may serve up to two consecutive terms in the same office.
Any elected member of the Executive Committee who has served for three consecutive terms of office shall only be eligible for election to the offices of Vice-President or President.
Early Career Chair
Please note that nominations for this role are open to all Young Investigators (age of 40 or under) who are members of Artery Society.

Nomination Procedure
Any person wishing to stand for election to the Committee should provide the following:
- A statement (no more than 250 words), clearly stating which position they wish to apply for and why they wish to stand for the Committee
- Photograph (head and shoulders)
- Nominations should be supported by two Full Artery Members, who should provide a statement (no more than 250 words) outlining why they feel the nominee should be considered for election to the Committee.
Nomination Timeline 2021
- Monday 27 September – Nominations close at 08.00 BST
- Thursday 30 September – Voting* opens to all Full members who have paid 2021 membership
- Monday 18 October – Voting closes at 08.00 BST
- Friday 22 October – Announcement made at the AGM
*Voting will only be necessary if the number of applicants exceeds the number of vacancies.
- Voting will be open to all Full ARTERY Members (not Student Members). Voting will be electronic and managed by the Artery Secretariat (CCL). Voting will close at 08:00 BST on Monday 18 October 2021.
- The election to the Committee is confirmed by a simple majority of those voting.
- The Executive Committee will appoint the Secretariat to serve as scrutineers and to supervise the conduct of the ballot and the counting of the Votes.
- The results will be announced by the President at the Annual Business Meeting
- If two or more candidates receive the same number of votes, the final decision will be made jointly by the current President (Professor Pierre Boutouyrie) & President-Elect (Professor Thomas Weber)
- The original electronic votes will be kept by the Secretariat for reference for a period of 6 months.
