A Welcome Networking Reception will be held at The Danubius Hotel Flamenco during the first Poster Discussion Session. The reception is open to all participants and the cost is included in the registration fee.

A perfect opportunity for new investigators (PhD students, post-docs or clinical research fellows) to mingle with their peers in a welcoming, relaxed environment in the centre of Budapest.

Tickets to this event are free of charge to Young Investigators under the age of 40. To reserve your place, please pick up your ticket at the Young Investigator Business Meeting on Thursday 10 October at 16.00 in the Cordoba Room at the Danubius Hotel Flamenco.

Run up to the magnificent Citadella upon Gellért Hill where you’ll take in the amazing views of the historic city of Budapest along with the striking view of the Liberty Statue. On the ‘Buda’ side you will see The Castle and on the ‘Pest’ side the Hungarian Parliament Building with the Danube river running in between.

The total running route is approximately 4kms with an elevation of 100m. This run and is suitable for all levels of fitness and you are free to walk if you prefer not to run! We invite you to take photos of the scenic route during the run and upload them to Instagram with #artery19run










Friday 11 October, 19.30 – 22.30

A pre-dinner drinks reception followed by the Conference Dinner will take place after the conference proceedings on Friday 11 October on board the Europe Ship. An elegant and stylish, 3-storey vessel with art-deco interior fulfilling all the expectations of our modern world. The ship provides an exclusive, welcoming atmosphere to all guests particularly on the upper deck where you can enjoy unrivalled views of Budapest while flowing along the beautiful Danube, one of the world’s greatest rivers.

Tickets are available at €80 and includes pre-dinner drinks, a three-course dinner, wine and entertainment. Coaches will be available to transport dinner guests to and from the ship.



Saturday 12 October, 14.30 (approximately) – exact tee off time to be confirmed

The ARTERY Open returns and will be held on Saturday 12 October at a course in Hungary.

All levels of golfers are welcome, even if you don’t play but want to try your hand at the sport, a teaching pro can be arranged at the club the event is held at. The trophies awarded to the previous year’s winners will be passed on to the ARTERY Open 2019 winners. Post golf drinks will be arranged at the clubhouse. Here’s what happened at the ARTERY Open 2018

ARTERY 18 not only ran informative and engaging content in the day time it also has an exciting social side as well. As well as evening dinners, drinks receptions, networking and cultural activities, 2018 hosted the inaugural ARTERY run and the ARTERY golf open.

The ARTERY run was held on the final morning of the event before the days conference sessions began. The ARTERY golf open ran on the Saturday, the day after the conference closed, held at the Estela Golf course, the number one course in Northern Portugal.

Redwave medical supplied the trophies for best net and best gross score, won in 2018 by Kennedy Cruickshank and Pierre Boutouyrie respectively.
