ARTERY Young Investigator Network

The Artery Young Investigator Network is aimed at creating a multidisciplinary group of young researchers interested in every aspect of artery structure and function from bench to bedside and willing to actively contribute to the life of the Artery Society.

Progress in knowledge strongly depends on the interchange between different disciplines and countries, so the earlier we start, the further we get. Artery Young Investigator Network aims to be an incubator for novel ideas and initiatives, facilitating connections for international collaborations, joint scientific projects, support and advice between peers, thus nurturing the new generation of Arteriologists.

How to join?

If you are a member of ARTERY Society and you are under 40, you simply have to fill in the application form and you will start receiving email updates about initiatives from the ARTERY Young Investigator Network.

ARTERY Young Investigator Network Chair: Dr Bernhard Hametner

Bernhard Hametner received his PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Vienna University of Technology in 2012. He is currently working as a Scientist at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna in the research group for Cardiovascular Diagnostics. He focuses on the development of mathematical models and algorithms for arterial pulse wave analysis, with the main goal to quantify wave transmission, wave reflection and arterial stiffness. Additionally, he is involved in the analysis of cardiovascular parameters obtained in clinicals studies. He is also active in teaching and the supervision of students, as well as in the management of research projects.
